SAMIA does not use cookies to collect information about users.

This section explains the use of cookies in the SAMIA application. As this is a web application/digital application aimed at healthcare professionals, we want to inform you clearly and precisely about which cookies we use, for what purpose and which we do not use, in compliance with Spanish and European regulations on cookies (Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services, and the ePrivacy Directive).

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small files or pieces of information stored on the User's device (computer, mobile phone, tablet) when they use an application or browse a website. They serve to recognise your device in subsequent interactions and enable certain technical functions. In general, cookies can fulfil different purposes: from remembering user preferences to enabling shopping carts or collecting usage statistics.

In the case of SAMIA, the use of cookies is limited to those that are strictly necessary for the correct functioning of the App and the provision of the service requested by the User. We do not use cookies to track habits or for advertising purposes.

2. What Types of Cookies Does SAMIA Use?

SAMIA only uses essential technical cookies. This means that all cookies installed when using our App are designed to allow navigation, security and basic operability of the service. Specifically, in SAMIA:

  • Technical or session cookies: These are necessary to allow you to authenticate and maintain your session as an authorised User. These cookies are temporary and are automatically deleted when you log out or close the application. We also use technical cookies to implement security measures (for example, to detect invalid access attempts or prevent attacks).
  • Preference cookies (technical): If the App allows customisation (for example, remembering the preferred interface language or certain user settings), a cookie may be used to save that preference selected by you. This improves your experience by not having to reconfigure those options each time. These are equally considered necessary cookies for the functionality expressly requested by the User.

We do not use any other type of cookies. In particular, in SAMIA no analytical cookies are installed (non-essential tracking or usage statistics cookies), no external personalisation cookies (other than the language ones mentioned), no advertising cookies and no third-party cookies (those managed by external providers). This means you can rest assured that when using our App, your activity is not being monitored for marketing purposes and no data is being collected for commercial objectives. Only first-party cookies, controlled by SAMIA, for technical purposes are used.

The use of necessary technical cookies in SAMIA is legally covered by the consent exemption provided for in the regulations. In accordance with Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 (LSSI), it is not mandatory to obtain the informed consent of the user for cookies that are strictly necessary to allow communication or to provide a service expressly requested by the user themselves.

Nevertheless, for reasons of transparency, we want to clearly inform you of their existence and purpose, even though it is not legally required to display a consent banner for these cookies. By using SAMIA, you understand and accept that these essential cookies are used to enable the basic functionalities of the App. Without them, the service cannot be provided correctly.

4. Details of the Technical Cookies Used

Below, we describe the specific technical cookies that SAMIA uses, for your information:

  • Session cookie (example: sessionid): Unique session identifier assigned to your device after logging in. Maintains the authenticated user session and allows secure navigation in areas restricted to professionals. Duration: Deleted on logout or after prolonged inactivity.
  • Session cookie (example: csrftoken): Unique token in the user session for session protection. Security measure that prevents cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks, ensuring the legitimacy of requests made to our servers. Duration: Invalidated on each form submission and deleted after prolonged inactivity.

These cookies are SAMIA's own (not accessible to third parties) and do not collect personal data beyond what is strictly necessary for their function (for example, the session ID does not contain your identifying information, only an internal code). They are also not used to analyse your behaviour or for additional purposes.

5. Managing and Deleting Cookies

Since we only use necessary technical cookies, it is not possible to selectively disable these cookies from within the App itself, as they are fundamental to its functioning. For this reason, in SAMIA you will not see a cookie settings panel, as there are no optional cookies to manage.

If you still wish to block or delete the technical cookies, you may do so through your web browser settings or device settings. Most browsers allow you to reject all cookies or cookies from specific sites. Please note that if you decide to block SAMIA's technical cookies, the App may not function correctly or you may be prevented from accessing basic functions (for example, it would be impossible to maintain a logged-in session).

If using the App in a hybrid mobile environment or similar, cookie options may vary. Consult your device or operating system documentation for more details on how to delete stored cookies.

Remember that, as these are necessary cookies, we do not recommend disabling them as this could significantly affect your experience of using SAMIA.

6. No Use of Third-Party or Analytical Cookies

We reiterate that SAMIA does not use third-party cookies. This means that no external entity (for example, Google Analytics, social networks, advertisers) inserts cookies through our App to collect information about you. Your use of SAMIA is not being measured by third-party analytical tools, nor do we share cookie information with anyone. Similarly, we do not use advertising cookies that show you advertisements based on your behaviour, nor cross-site tracking cookies. Our policy is to maintain an environment free of such mechanisms, focusing exclusively on the essential functionality of the service.

It may occur that in the future we modify the way we use cookies (for example, if we incorporate new functionalities that require additional cookies, or if the laws on cookies change). Any changes to SAMIA's Cookie Policy will be communicated to professional users through the App and/or updated in this section. The date of the last update appears at the beginning of the document. We encourage you to review this section periodically to stay informed about how we use these technologies.

In any case, any new cookie not covered by the legal exemptions will be duly disclosed and, where applicable, subject to prior consent of the User before installation, in compliance with applicable regulations.

This Cookie Policy forms an integral part of the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy of SAMIA. By using our App without disabling cookies in your browser, we consider that you understand and accept the use of technical cookies under the conditions set out above.
